honestly, cars are trouble. they’re expensive to obtain and maintain, they’re dangerous, and they pollute. get a nice bike instead. that’s my advice.
AAHHHHH I HOPE YOURE OKAY AND IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN
Damn, are you alright?
Yeah, everyone was fine.
There was a lot of traffic and i was trying to change lanes and the guy in the lane next to me was far enough behind me that i could get in but instead of letting me in he kept accelerating, so while i was focusing on that, still unsure if i could get in or not, i didn’t notice that traffic in front of me had stopped and rear-ended the person in front of me.
they were the same age as me and very relaxed and understanding about it which was great. if they had been angry and freaking out idk what i would have done.
my left headlight and the left side of my front bumper are both pretty crushed. their rear bumper was a bit banged up, but nothing too bad. as of right now we’re not going through insurance so that’s good i think.
I was talking to my brother about women’s attitudes towards their bodies, especially regarding weight/fat, and when he said “most guys don’t notice/care about that kind of thing,” I tried to explain why it was a lot more complicated than that. I ended up telling this story.
Body image is something that’s so hard to talk about, and it’s hard to express body positivity without sounding cheesy, false, or overly simplistic. But I’m gonna try. This is only my own experience, and it didn’t magically cure me of all my body image issues - but it was a major turning point for me nonetheless.
